Announcing the 7th Annual Chowderfest!

Chowderfest Returns to the Channel Islands Maritime Museum on September 19th with Tastings, Live Music, Harbor Cruises & More!

Mark your calendars and bring your appetite! The Channel Islands Maritime Museum (CIMM) is excited to announce the return of Chowderfest 2026, the museum’s flavorful annual community celebration, taking place on Saturday, September 19, 2026, from 12:00 - 4:00 PM at the museum’s picturesque waterfront location in Channel Islands Harbor.

Now in its 7th year, Chowderfest has become one of Ventura County’s most anticipated food and community events, bringing together local restaurants, live entertainment and maritime charm for an unforgettable afternoon by the harbor.

Guests will have the opportunity to sample a variety of delicious chowders from some of the area's favorite restaurants, enjoy live music by Kelly's Lot & Friends, explore the museum’s world-class exhibits, take part in harbor cruises from Fish with the Finest and cast their vote for the coveted title of Best Chowder.

The 2026 restaurant lineup already includes:

Additional restaurant participants will be announced in the coming weeks.

Last year's Best Chowder & People's Choice winners, Sea Fresh & Boatyard Pub!

Chowderfest’s popularity continues to grow year after year. In fact, Chowderfest 2025 sold out before the event, drawing a packed crowd to the harbor for an afternoon of great food, friendly competition and community celebration.

Because attendance is limited, organizers encourage guests to purchase tickets early.

"We're thrilled to bring Chowderfest back for its seventh year," said Doug Riffenburgh, Executive Director of CIMM. "This event has become a wonderful tradition that celebrates great food, local restaurants and the maritime community that makes Channel Islands Harbor so special. With last year's event selling out, we're encouraging everyone to secure their tickets early."

Beyond the food and festivities, Chowderfest serves a greater purpose. Proceeds from the event support the nonprofit Channel Islands Maritime Museum and it's mission to preserve and share maritime art & history while expanding educational programs, exhibitions and community engagement opportunities throughout Ventura County.

Whether you're a chowder connoisseur, a maritime history buff or simply looking for a fun afternoon on the waterfront, the 7th annual Chowderfest promises something for everyone.
