About the event
Antarctica is a destination that is on a lot of people’s bucket lists. The South Polar region; including Antarctica, the Subantarctic islands, and the Southern Ocean; is one of the most remote places on earth and its jaw-dropping landscapes (and seascapes) host incredible numbers of marine birds and mammals. However, the travel season there is restrictive, trips are pricey, and sea conditions can change a trip’s itinerary at a moment’s notice. Travelers to this region assume a number of risks and uncertainties, but there is no other place on earth that offers the awe-inspiring experiences to be found there. David Pereksta decided to finally add this destination to his bucket and made the trek to Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica, South Georgia, and the Falkland Islands this winter.
