About the event

In this captivating new exhibition running March 19 - June 1, 2026, Ventura artist d truthsayer invites visitors to explore the delicate relationship between wildlife and the environments they depend on. Her striking works portray endangered and threatened species, but these pieces are far more than paintings! Each image is constructed from natural materials gathered from the very landscapes and shorelines the animals inhabit. Sand becomes fur, kelp and rope become ocean light and twigs and moss form shadow and movement, turning every artwork into both portrait and habitat. From the dramatic story of the Sunflower sea star and its vital role in Pacific kelp forests to the fragile presence of the Snowy plover, each piece reveals an ecosystem layered within its surface. Come discover the textures and materials that shape these pieces & join us for a free opening reception to meet the artist and experience these extraordinary works…
