BECOME A CIMM VOLUNTEER

OUR NEXT MUSEUM TOUR DOCENT CLASS BEGINS ON MONDAY, FEBRUARY 6. PLEASE EMAIL OFFICE@CIMMVC.ORG IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN THE CLASS!

CIMM is proud of its tradition as a predominantly volunteer-run organization. Docents and volunteers have helped to staff the museum and its events for the last 31 years and are truly the heart of the Museum.

The Museum is always looking for friendly and eager volunteers. There are so many areas available to help support the Museum and its community of visitors.

Museum Tour Docent

Docents are available to guide our guests through the Museum, describing the world-class art and ship models in our collection; providing a general introduction to the Museum’s mission, history and collection; and interpreting current exhibitions for visitors of all ages. (Please Note: To be a Tour Docent you must complete the 8-week Docent Training program. Learn about the Museum’s collection, prepare to give tours to the public, work the Museum front desk, help with events. There are two Docent Training classes per year. The Museum also offers an online training course/program. THE NEXT TOUR DOCENT CLASS BEGINS ON OCTOBER 3).
