Tragedy at Honda

with Greg Gorga

To this day the “Tragedy at Honda” is considered the largest naval disaster during peace time in U.S. history. Director of the Santa Barbara Maritime Museum Greg Gorga will discuss the events that led up to this tragedy, and the domino effect they had in causing the death of 23 brave U.S. Navy sailors, using dozens of photos taken in the days after the accident.

Speaker Series is a lecture series held every third Thursday at the Channel Islands Maritime Museum. Refreshments are served at 6.30pm and the lecture begins at 7.00pm. Entry is free with membership, $5 for non-members, $4 for seniors.
