A Theatrical Evening with the Salt and Sea Storytellers
A Reading Theater Presentation performed for the first time!
A local of Ventura, he is the author of ten books: a collection of fiction, non-fiction and essays. Ken’s magazine articles have earned three Lowell Thomas awards, travel writing's top award. His assignments from magazines have provided him unbridled opportunity for play; from diving with white sharks, to running the Inca trail to Machu Picchu, to sparring with the world shoot fighting champion.
A national award-winning columnist and author, he has been a sports columnist for more than 25 years in Southern California with the VC Star and the South Bay Daily Breeze in Torrance. His writing has received several National Recognition Awards, and he currently works with the Star as a general interest essayist.
ROGER W. THOMPSON
An advocate for orphans in Haiti with the Hands and Feet Project, he also produces surf movies with Walking on Water Films. When not working, Roger can be found fly-fishing, building furniture, and surfing with his sons near the coastal town of Ventura, California, where he lives with his wife, two young sons, one old dog, and seven productive chickens. He is the author of his recent memoir, My Best Friend's Funeral.
Jeff McElroy is the author of Californios and Californios 2, short story collections inspired by California's coast, deserts, and mountains. Californios won 1st Place in the 2014 Independent Publisher Awards (IPPYs) for Best West Coast Fiction. His work has been compared to Steinbeck, if Steinbeck had a surfboard underarm and a backpack on his back. McElroy lives in the Ventura hillsides with his wife and Jack Russell Terrier. He's working on a novel set in late 19th Century California.
